biography
Dr Saima Nafis is a medical graduate. After working in ophthalmology for several years in different hospitals, she decided to move into research. She was awarded a scholarship and completed an MSc in Public Health and Health Promotion at Swansea University with Merit. She was awarded a distinction for her MSc dissertation. She obtained a PhD degree from Coventry University. Her PhD research entitled, "Evaluation of digital health and well-being apps in ‘real-life’ residential care settings: innovation for cognitive impairment and dementia". Her leadership quality encouraged her to contest and win the Postgraduate Research Officer position at CUSU. She is interested in Global health, ageing, digital health and Medical Humanities. She is working as Public Health Inclusion and Engagement Lead at Salford City Council.
