biography
Irene Kacandes, PhD, is The Dartmouth Professor of German and Comparative Literature. Specializing in narrative theory and 20th-century cultural studies, she has written articles concerning orality and literacy, feminist linguistics, and the Holocaust. In 2001 The University of Nebraska Press issued her Talk Fiction: Literature and the Talk Explosion and in 2009 it published Daddy's War: Greek American Storytelling, Family Memory, and Trauma. A Paramemoir.
