biography

Gordon Mathews, PhD, serves as Chairperson and Professor in the Department of Anthropology, Chinese University of Hong Kong. His areas of interest include anthropological theory, globalization, cultural identity, generation gaps, and meanings of life. His latest monograph, Ghetto at the Center of the World, won the Hong Kong Book Award in June 2014.
