biography

Terrence Holt, PhD, MD, is Professor of Social Medicine and of Geriatric Medicine at UNC School of Medicine. He works at the intersection between medicine and literature, with a focus on how we confront our mortal condition, and provides primary care to residents in independent and assisted living. He writes fiction and nonfiction and has published numerous books and essays, including most recently the highly acclaimed collection, Internal Medicine: A Doctor’s Stories.
