Professor of Epidemiology, University of Pennsylvania. Interests: Health and healthcare, human geography, place-placed change, emergency care, public infrastructure, violence and trauma, suicide in Greece, and the intersection of aging and urbanization. Serves on boards and offers scientific expertise for NIH, CDC, the Canadian National Research Council, the South African Medical Research Council, the Institute of Medicine, the National Research Council, and the American Public Health Association
