biography

Rishi Goyal, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Emergency Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center and teaches a course on "imagining illness" at CU's Institute of Comparative Literature and Society. He has published papers on narratology, medical humanities, and the value of emotions in clinical decision making. His current research interests include the nature of risk and the role of narrative and story telling in medical diagnostics.
