PhD in English and MD in Emergency Medicine from Columbia University (2010). Currently, Assistant Professor in the Division of Emergency Medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Also teaches at the Institute of Comparative Literature at Columbia University; Formerly, Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and English Literature at the University of Arizona; Formerly, Director of Medical Humanism for the college of medicine. Interests: intersections of medicine and culture, representations of illness, and medical cognition and identity
